Phototherapy

Treatment for Atopic Dermatitis – Psoriasis – Vitiligo

Narrow band UVB phototherapy

Narrowband UVB phototherapy is a great option for treating a variety of skincare conditions, but it doesn’t stop there. It’s also great at addressing cosmetic concerns. Here are just a few of the conditions we treat at our clinic:

  • Atopic Dermatitis
  • Psoriasis
  • Vitiligo

Results last longer for those that properly maintain their skin by using sunscreen, staying hydrated, and keeping your skin moisturized.

Narrowband UVB phototherapy requires fewer treatments per week than other light therapies. In addition, the sessions are quick. You could be in and out within 20 minutes.

Each treatment is quick. Sessions start at 2-3 times per week and are reduced as clearance is achieved.

Post-treatment, you should only have minor discomfort. Therefore, you should be able to return to work and/or resume your normal everyday activities.

NBUVB does not have any downtime.

During the Treatment

Because of the bright light, you’ll be given protective glasses to wear. It’s also very likely that you’ll have an ointment applied prior to the process.

Most patients require multiple treatments with narrowband UVB phototherapy, often up to 2 to 5 visits per week. The number of visits will ultimately depend on the type of skin problem, the severity, and your response.

After the Treatment

Most patients who receive narrowband UVB phototherapy have minimal to no side effects. The most common side effect is redness.
